With as much as 70% of Korea’s land comprised of mountains, mountains have long been embedded within Korean life. The capital city of Seoul, specifically, is surrounded by a vast number of mountains and forests. Over the last several decades, Seoul has rapidly been on the move in the midst of constant transformation, leaving the impression that it’s progressing forward nonstop. Perhaps this is why those that find themselves in the middle of such dynamic changes might need a break from time to time. For those in need of a recharge away from the city, both physically and mentally, head out to the mountains for some clean air and a stunning scenic view of the city to release all that built up stress!

Cheonggyesan Mountain is the most southern of all mountains surrounding Seoul. Its name originates from the fact that the water that flows down from the mountain is extremely clear. The long, winding trail following the mountainside is also perfect for those seeking quick breathers along the way. Most of the trails leading up to the mountain peak are comprised of staircases, and once the peak is reached, trekkers are rewarded with a remarkable view of the city that is sure to invigorate the soul. This is definitely a course you want to mark down on your itinerary as it’s only mildly difficulty, not to mention that beautiful scenery attracts visitors all year round! (From Visit Seoul Net)
